My Mother Will Always Protect Me
Bouncy Balls, Paper, Marker, Tipex, Watercolours, Acetate. 420 x 594 mm
This shows that the Quail mother will do anything to protect her young by using the unique pattern on the eggs and placing it in an area it can blend into like bushes, soil and shrubbery as a way of protecting her young from predators. I have based my usage of markers on personal experience with markers and that I always end up covered in ink, so it's to represent the speckled pattern over the eggs. I used acetate to represent the fact that they are used to blend in with soil and the soil is beneath them and their unique pattern can blend in with this. I used watercolour and paper because from personal experience eggs tend to be fragile like paper, which can easily be destroyed. The bouncy balls represent the waxy texture of the leaf from personal experience planting plants with my grandparents I can remember the feeling of the leaves.
